Southern Cross

Kicking around this event.... seems to be a good distance even if the weather is crap... Maybe use the tranny with 700c wheels and 28c tires? 36x17 gearing?

I donno I think this could be a good way to kill a weekend in Jan.... Eddie and Nam do put on a good event....

Lost and Found

The trip back to D-town was great. So good to see my new niece and my bro's and my folks.

Saw a few friends...

Got a sweet ride in at Buff Creek!

Drank some...

Ate more...

Saw a few of my old bosses.....

Realized how much I miss my fam being in UT and how I do miss my front range friends. But man to be on greyhound early this morning and getting excited to ride and pumped about being in the shop today! Thats hard to beat...

Looks like my tranny didn't make the bus... so somewhere between denver and StG it got pulled or something... I think it might be some mtb's off the 29er mtbr forum who were upset to hear I had regressed to 26" wheels on my last bike purchase ;)... anyway big pain in my ass tracking this down and having to go pick it up in StG and such!! But super stoked to get in packed into a wheel box.... super tiny and no extra charges for greyhound...

Seems to be a slow day at the shop... wonder what Turkey week well bring?

Little Wheels?

Well I'm digging my Tranny alot witch has me thinking about little wheels...

I still like my 29er wheels for the long stuff... but damn this tranny is just so light and playful...

To much fun!

Working on building a travel case for it out of some rubbermaid containers...wondering on how to build a break down trailer so i could just ride to and from the airport? 30$ and should only be oversize charges on the airplane, not bike charges! and greyhound and amtrack won't think twice!

Sop this bike has me thinking about some more far flung trips.... maybe go do a AK tour maybe ride into the artic circle, go vist Jill in juno?

maybe go do the OTE melrose fat tyre fest in Australia?

Do a pacific northwest tour... vist kent, sportty, nat???

Huuummmmm......

Solo at the shop the next few days so Q can celebrate his 38th birthday...

Then I'm catching a ride early on tues to denver and then greyhound back to StG friday eve... well be good to get out of town and see my bros and Denver peeps...

Stoked X2!

OTE Hurricane Also had a corporate team out there and they pulled off 20 laps and a few of the folks on there team haven't ever raced their mtn bikes before!! Way to go Monte, Bonnie, Jack, Q, Joel, Bob!!

Way to go guys!

Stoked!

My first podium at a 25 hour race! I got fist by about 3 minutes i think....

I felt pretty good leading up to The 25 hours of frog hallow. Felt rested and no logistical stress of getting there...

Wasn't to long of a Le Mans run...

1 st lap went super fast 1:17 i think and 2nd went about 1:20 feeling good with that so i stopped and ate some food.....

basically got 5 laps in before it got dark. Was pretty excited to ride the night laps. Lynda Wallenfels let me barrow her old light n motion HID setups... so nice to ride at night with lotsa light and not have to stop due to running outa juice! Thanks LW!!!

I still can't see worth a damn at night...

I only got 3 laps in at night due to my slowness at riding at night and getting cold... took two hout long naps in the ote trailer during the night... By morning i was ahead by 2 laps but i wasn't pedaling to fast when the sun came up and Don passed me at 7:30am so i was a bit worried with him sleeping 7 hours in his heated sprinter van that he was gonna be fresh in the morning... My 9th lap my tummy went super sour! I stopped for 15 min and got some oatmeal and a coka cola down the hatch and went out for my last lap at 9:20am

I though for sure I was pedaling for 2nd place at this point...

I struggled on the last lap but got it done and rolled in to the finish with LW, and her kiddos root me on to the finish...

And Cimarron told me I was in 1st! (mucho big thanks for her putting this event on!)

I was a bit in shock... That session dark lager that Jemie and Bryce handed me tasted so good!

So 128 miles done in 25 hours! And my first 25 hour podium!! Stoked!!

My Jabberwonky preformed awesome! and the titec j-bar/ ergon combo is making my wrists happy today! Thanks to Q & Dj at over the edge for letting me ride this past weekend...

Yay for a win! I'm still not sure what 2010 is gonna bring...

Mellow mode

So today is off and i have thursday off... however i'll be helping put up more signage and some barriers.

Then work on friday...

then time to kick some butt at 10am on saturday.... i donno this is the closest a 24 hour has been to where i'm living and its been so nice to pre ride it at night and during the day....

I'm the least stressed i've been before an event so I wonder how that well work out...

So stoked for riding this weekend it is quite cold at the moment but soposed to be 65-70 during the day this weekend...

can't wait for saturday!! Chris P got into utrasport!! The nutter!
